Free Squat
We know that food water and air are necessary to sustaining life. This exercise is related to breath and our life energy that is in us. It has been given different names by different cultures, we will simply call it our life force or energy. Now we are going to improve our energy which in turn improves our physical and emotional health. Let's begin;
Do this very gently, no force, force is actually contradictory to what
we are trying to do. When we breathe in we are not simply breathing air
but energy and the method done is to induce energy flow inside the body,
you must be relaxed and keep your mind free from distracting thoughts.
2) This one is our "Free Squat" and is done as follows;
Stand relaxed and upright with your feet wider than shoulder width apart.
Hold your arms straight out at your sides and very relaxed, use only enough
tension to hold your arms out. Pay attention that there is no tension in
your hands but that everything is relaxed.
Very gently and easily breathe in through your nose and once you have attaind a full breath begin to exhale slowly through your nose. Keep the tip of your tongue lightly touching the roof of your mouth and your teeth touching but not clenched. The reason for this is that these exercises are also taught to the martial arts class and in the martial arts you always want to keep your mouth closed so if you get hit in the jaw there will be less damage than if your mouth is open. If open the jaw could more easily be broken.
Now while slowly exhaling you want to descend slowly to the ground into a full squat position and exhale completely and give it an extra second or two of exhale after you think you have already completely exhaled. Now rise slowly and while doing so inhale slowly and easily. Breathe deeply all the way down into your abdomen and up into the upper part of your chest. When you are completely standing you should have completely filled lungs. Continue for an extra second or two breathing in to get more air. This would look to someone who was just watching as if you were holding your breath since your lungs are already full. This will help to expand your lung capacity. The extra time spent expelling air will help to rid the body of more waste and toxins.
Do this ten to twenty times and each time you push your palms skyward, feel your back straighten and each time you lower your hands, feel the energy flow down your body.
This is a simple exercise and very gentle but does wonders
for your health.
Once you are finished with the complete number of repetitions, stand and
relax with your arms hanging at your sides for about 5 minutes, clear your
mind of all irrelevant thought and allow your body to gently move of it's
own accord. It may simply sway back and forth or it may jerk around in
different ways or you may drop to the floor so be sure to have a very clear
space around you when you do this. Do not prevent your body from moving,
just let it flow, this is your life force or energy, chi, or qi, whatever
you wish to call it.Let it flow for about 5 minutes and then slowly come
to a halt.
Many diseases and physical issues have been arrested and cured through energy manipulation. We have been given the ability to heal and fight disease but to do this we need to live right and clean, the way we were created, disease was not created by God, man brought this on himself and we need to do something about it. Start with this exercise and do it every day to cleanse your channels for good life flow for excellent health and vitality.
