Lift the sky sequence
We know that food water and air are necessary to sustaining life. This exercise is related to breath and our life energy that is in us. It has been given different names by different cultures, we will simply call it our life force or energy. Now we are going to improve our energy which in turn improves our physical and emotional health. Let's begin;
Do this very gently, no force, force is actually contradictory to what
we are trying to do. When we breathe in we are not simply breathing air
but energy and the method done is to induce energy flow inside the body,
you must be relaxed and keep your mind free from distracting thoughts.
1) This first one is called "Lifting the Sky" and is done as
follows;
Stand relaxed and upright with your feet fairly close together. Hold your
arms down at your sides with your hands at right angles to your forearm
and the fingers pointing at each other in front of you.
Bring your arms in an arc forward and upward so that the palms face skyward with the fingers still pointing at each other. Breathe in gently through your nose as you do this with the tip of your tongue gently touching the roof of your mouth and your teeth touching but not clemched. Keep the mouth this way throughout the exercise. The reason for this is that this exercise is taught to the martial arts class for creating internal power and you must always keep your mouth closed for fighting so that if you are hit in the jaw it will not be broken as easily as if the mouth were held open.
Look up at your hands and gently hold your breath. Next push your palms up, still at right angles, towards the sky. Then lower your arms sideways back to your sides and the starting position breathing out gently through your mouth as you do so, also lower your head to look forward.
Do this ten to twenty times and each time you push your palms skyward, feel your back straighten and each time you lower your hands, feel the energy flow down your body.
This is a simple exercise and very gentle but does wonders
for your health.
Once you are finished with the complete number of repetitions, stand and
relax with your arms hanging at your sides for about 5 minutes, clear your
mind of all irrelevant thought and allow your body to gently move of it's
own accord. It may simply sway back and forth or it may jerk around in
different ways or you may drop to the floor so be sure to have a very clear
space around you when you do this. Do not prevent your body from moving,
just let it flow, this is your life force or energy, chi, or qi, whatever
you wish to call it.Let it flow for about 5 minutes and then slowly come
to a halt.
Many diseases and physical issues have been arrested and cured through energy manipulation. We have been given the ability to heal and fight disease but to do this we need to live right and clean, the way we were created, disease was not created by God, man brought this on himself and we need to do something about it. Start with this exercise and do it every day to cleanse your channels for good life flow for excellent health and vitality.
